Feng Shui Your Space
After swimming through the the Holy books and charts, I realized that I needed something more practical. I wanted and needed to be able to apply some of my knowledge.
That's when I found this book!!!
Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life by Karen Rauch Carter.
A DEFINITE MUST READ!!!
I initially found it inside of my local library. I kept it out for over 3 months. I've since purchased two of these amazing books and refer to them often.
Now I've heard of Feng Shui prior to finding this book, but this book not only gives great information, but it also gives you step-by-step instructions on how to transform your world and home.
Click here to see my home in all of its transformations based on reading and applying this book.
I've received many spiritual benefits/blessings since finding this book.
For instance...
According to Black Top Feng Shui (BTB) the prosperity section of your house is located in the far left corner of your home.
In my home, that part of my house is the kitchen.
In Karen's book, she explains that if (like me) your kitchen lies in the prosperity section of your home, then you should wrap 10 one dollar bills and to wrap them in saran wrap and tie it with a red bow.
Why, you may ask...?
For "cold hard cash" silly!!!!
And it worked!!!
It really did.
Shortly after the first time we did this, my husband found $80 folded neatly in his nightstand. They were all $1 bills. All face up.
We didn't know how it got there or where it came from. We asked our kids if they put in there and we even asked my husband's mom if she snuck it in there. The answer was "NO"!
We've gone on to be able to refinance our home which gave us 2 months of not having to pay our mortgage. ($800 x 2=$1600) Which allowed us to catch up on our bills in a major way!!
I even had a man call me out of the blue to tell me that I won't have to pay my college loan payments (interest free!!) for 3 years. I can't tell you how overjoyed I felt after receiving this phone call.
I've received many other beautiful gifts from spirit and by setting the intentions a little higher every time, things have become increasingly better.

What is Feng Shui??
feng shui
ˈfəNG ˈSHwē,-SHwā/
noun
noun: feng shui; noun: fengshui
-
(in Chinese thought) a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy (qi), and whose favorable or unfavorable effects are taken into account when siting and designing buildings.
What is Feng Shui Design??
(According to about.com)
A good feng shui design means a house is build with a good flow of energy in mind; it has an intelligent, nourishing flow.
A well designed feng shui house has no:
-
Front door aligned with the back door
-
Bedroom above the garage
-
Bathroom above the front door
-
Staircase facing the main door
-
Bathroom over the bedroom
This also means a house is built for good air circulation and allows maximum natural light to bathe its rooms.
Some of the results of bad feng shui design are easier to deal with than the others. For example, while you can sure bring air-purifying plants and invest in smart lighting - maybe even full spectrum lighting - you cannot easily change the effect of a bathroom over the bedroom.
To conclude, feng shui design is the process that goes into the initial stages of building or renovating a house, while feng shui decorating can be done at anytime by using appropriate feng shui cures.
How do you Feng Shui your home??
Getting started with feng shui for your house & home can be easy when you start with the house basics and gradually move on to the more complex feng shui levels. To help you get started with good feng shui in your home, here are some helpful feng shui house steps for beginners:
-
Clear Out Your Clutter, get rid of everything you do not love in your house. Clutter clearing is a time-and energy-consuming process that will feel like therapy, but it will help you "lighten up the load," so to speak.Do not skip this step, as it is an essential one in creating harmonious house feng shui energy.
-
Have Good Quality Air and Good Quality Light in your house. These two elements are essential for good feng shui energy (called Chi) in your home. Open the windows often, introduce feng shui air-purifying plants or use an air-purifier. Allow as much natural light as possible into your home, and consider using full-spectrum lights.
-
Define the Bagua, or the feng shui energy map of your house, by using one of the two main feng shui methods - the classical school bagua or the BTB grid (which is below). Once you define the bagua, you will know which areas of your home are connected to specific areas of your life.
What are bagua's and how do you define them??
The Western, or BTB Feng Shui School Bagua, is really easy to define and apply in your home or office. You will need a floor plan of your home, as well as additional paper and pencil(s). Using tracing paper often makes it easier to define your home or office bagua.
The Western, or BTB Feng Shui School bagua consists of the same nine areas as the Traditional Feng Shui School Bagua. However, the compass directions are not taken into consideration; the way you lay the BTB, or Western Feng Shui School Bagua, is by aligning the lower end of the grid with the wall of the front door of your home or office.
Let's begin!
Create a grid with nine squares (or rectangles) that will fit over your home or office floor plan.Align the lower part, or the lower row of your grid, with the wall of your main door. Assign each of the 9 squares (or rectangles) to the following feng shui areas:
prosperity & abundance
fame
& reputation
Love
&
marriage
health,
family & community
health
&
self
children
&
creativity
wisdom
&
personal
growth
career
helpful
people
&
blessings
------main door/front door------
You got this!
Your house may not fit this diagram perfectly and that's okay. Just do the best you can. Next, scroll down to the next group of 9 squares to see what elements, colors and intentions belong in each bagua or section of your home.
